Committees and Panels. Professional Services
I am/have been serving as panel chair or panel member in national and international panels, including panel PE9 (Sciences of the Universe) of the European Research Council (European Commission), NASA panels HST, SWIFT, IDEAS, NPP, etc.; NASA Multimission Archive U.G., NASA Science Mission Directorate Forums "Origins", "Universe", and "SEPOF". I also serve/d as panelist or referee for other national space agencies and science foundations in Europe, the Americas, including the Russian Science Foundation and the Canadian Science Foundation. I have served in the O.C. of IAU Comm.42, and I am member of the Working Group on UV astronomy within IAU Division B. I often referee papers for ApJ, AJ, MNRAS, A&A, J.ASR, ApSS, and book projects.
I participate/d in scientific organizing committees of international conferences. I have served in thesis defense committees in Europe, Brazil, and U.S.A, and directed several dissertation projects of international students. I also serve/d as chair or member in various Department committees.
